Upgrading the fixtures and cabinetry in your bathroom can be a very expensive feat. It takes the right kind of mindset to get the job done right, without blowing your budget. In this post I want to share some tips that I’ve learned throughout the years for how to do this efficiently, without breaking the bank.
The key is to have a plan before hand. You have to know what you need before you can go shopping for it. If you need a double vanity, you can go to the store specifically for that. If you want a farm sink for your vanity, you know where to begin. The whole idea is to be organized before you head out the door or go online.
The range of sinks available is impressive to say the least but that doesn’t make your job any easier. Actually, when you start to look at the types available you might begin to have doubts over what your choice should be.
There are some sinks available made from granite that look simply amazing. A granite sink for the bathroom adds a new dimension to the feel of the room and coupled with a copper waterfall faucet it would give the room an old-style atmosphere just with the plumbing.
With as many options to shop from online I recommend starting your search there. Not just to buy stuff, but to start getting an idea for what it’s going to ultimately cost. Buying stuff like a vanity online is tough because many retailers will make you have a construction crew on hand to receive the vanity once it’s shipped so they can be sure that you don’t screw it up. That’s going to raise the price way more than you probably want.
Instead, use the internet as an informational resource. Many of the store that you shop online also have brick and mortar stores that you can visit. Actually being able to stand in front of a vanity or sink to see how it feels is extremely important in the decision making. It’s much easier to tell if you’re going to like something as large as that by actually touching it than it is to look at it online.
Spend some time searching the big websites like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Restoration Hardware, then go to those stores after you have a good idea of which one you want. Buy it there and save yourself time and money.
