Mildew can be and often is a problem that people are forced to deal with in their homes and places of work. Besides being an unsightly nuisance that shows itself looking like mold suddenly appearing everywhere from tapestries and carpets, to cabinets, ceilings, walls, faucets and sinks, it can also be extremely dangerous as well. It is thought to be responsible for the cause of various neurological problems and respiratory issues. It can prove especially lethal if there is someone in the home dealing with asthma. It is obvious to everyone how simply awful it looks when seen affecting any of the areas in the home. But particular attention must be paid to areas that are generally wet, as example bathroom cabinets for one. Here are some suggestions for one to consider if they are dealing with the removal of any mildew from bathroom cabinets.
At the beginning of the project one should realize what will be needed to successfully get it done. One should know that bleach; latex paints, warm water, various cleaning solutions, a face mask, protective glasses and a vacuum that features a good brush attachment will be required for this process. There could be times that even this equipment might not prove to be enough to get the job done and even stronger solutions must be obtained, but in the majority of cases, these will get things accomplished. Next, let’s take a look at how to put everything to use.
* Step one would of course is to put on the goggles and face mask.
* Next, the bleaching solution and warm water are employed to clean the wall surfaces. With a soft brush, the solution is worked over the bathroom cabinet with a soft stroke. At this point it should be allowed to stand 20-30 minutes.
* Next is the brush attachment to the vacuum being rotated in a circular motion which slowly removes the mildew softened by the solution that was applied.
* Attention should be paid to being certain the wood does not get soaked which will cause a warping concern.
* Finally, that mold-proof latex paint we have secured is applied over the complete surface of the bathroom cabinet and allowed to dry.
Spores carried off by wind that settle onto moisture become molds. Although they are virtually impossible to totally avoid, we have just reviewed one of the ways they can be dealt with.
